Privacy Policy

Effective August 16, 2026

picnic. helps you decide where to eat in Bangkok. This policy explains exactly what the app collects, why it needs it, and how to get rid of it. We’ve tried to describe what the app really does rather than list every possibility.

Location

With your permission, the app uses your device location to show restaurants near you and to order them nearest-first. Your location is used to build the list you see and is not stored on our servers or attached to your account. If you decline, the app falls back to a neighbourhood you pick yourself.

Your account

Creating an account stores a username and email address. Restaurant owners applying to claim a listing also provide a restaurant name, address, contact email and a proof document, which our team reviews manually.

Things you create

Saved restaurants, groups you create or join, chat messages, swipes, photos you take after a match, and diary entries are stored so they work across your devices and are visible to the people you share a group with. Photos are stored in a private bucket and served through short-lived links.

Camera and photos

The camera is used only when you choose to take a photo to mark a match. Nothing is captured in the background, and the app does not read your photo library.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, a device token is stored so we can tell you about new messages and matches in your groups. You can turn notifications off in your device settings at any time, and the token stops being used.

Who else is involved

Restaurant information, photos and ratings come from Google Maps Platform. Accounts, content and files are stored with Supabase. Notifications are delivered through Firebase Cloud Messaging. Restaurant owners who buy promotion pay through Omise, which handles card details directly — we never receive or store them.

We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising profiles.

Children

picnic. is not intended for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect information from them.

Deleting your data

You can delete your account from the account screen at any time. This permanently removes your profile, saved restaurants, applications and the content tied to your account. Messages already sent to a group may remain visible to that group. You can also email us and we’ll do it for you.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect, we’ll update the effective date above and, where it matters, tell you in the app.
